Staycations are my favorite thing about living in Southern California. You don’t need to go far to find somewhere magical for a little getaway. I surprised Kevin (my amazing boyfriend) with a 2 night staycation in Temecula Wine Country for his birthday. I grew up in Temecula and it will always feel like home to me and I love to visit whenever I get the chance.
We stayed at South Coast Winery Resort and Spa the first night and the Carter Estate Winery and Resort the 2nd night. These wineries are “sister wineries”, both are so beautiful but have very different vibes so I am splitting them up into two posts! This blog will be all about the magical South Coast Winery, and you can read more about the Carter Estate Winery here.
South Coast Winery Resort & Spa is located in Temecula Wine Country. This resort is surrounded by beautiful views of vineyards and rolling hills. I walked around the whole property admiring all of the bright and colorful flowers, gardens, and designs. This resort has all of the fairy-tale vibes and you can feel the magic as you walk around.
I stayed in the villas which were AMAZING! Of course, there was a huge comfy bed but I think my favorite part of the room was the huge jacuzzi tub! Bubble baths are my favorite thing and this tub did not let me down! The backyard patio was also incredible. The doors opened up right into the vineyards. It was the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine before heading to dinner. We had dinner at the Vineyard Rose Restaurant which was super vegan friendly. The waitress we had was vegan too, so she did a wonderful job at showing me all of the vegan options.
Things to do:
Wine Taste… duh
Walk around the property and enjoy the views
Lay by the pool/hot tub
Visit the Spa for a massage
Happy Hour or Dinner at the Vineyard Rose Restaurant
Hot Air Balloon Tour (I need to do this next time)
South Coast Winery Resort & Spa Celebrates July 4th with Live Music and a Drone Light Show
Thursday, July 4, doors open at 6 p.m.
South Coast Winery Resort & Spa celebrates Independence Day with local favorite Kanan Road followed by country pop duo Brown & Gray. General admission tickets are free for standing room, with upgrade available to a full-size adult bean bag for two for $20. Or, guests can dine on the Veranda or Tiered Terrace. Following the performances, a drone light show will start at 9 p.m. (in lieu of fireworks harming the vineyards).
South Coast Wines are so good! My favorite 2 were the 2015 Gewürztraminer (pronounced Guh-verts-tra-mee-ner) and the Boulder 2.0. I bought a few bottles to take home and share with my family.
I love the Gewürztraminer because it is the perfect amount of sweet. The Boulder 2.0 was smooth and silky and definitely my favorite of their reds.
