Wonders of Watermelon

Watermelon! One of the most popular fruits, not to mention one of the healthiest too! It's delicious, juicy, and you can eat tons of it without feeling guilty! But, did you know there is actually a "right way" to eat watermelon? Yeah I know, crazy right?! It’s 2018 and people are still telling me how to eat my food. In all seriousness though, the best time to eat watermelon is in the morning right when you wake up on an empty stomach. Why? Because if you eat watermelon combined with other foods or with food already in your stomach then all the amazing benefits that come from watermelon will be greatly reduced. Also, watermelon can cause bloating if you do not eat it on an empty stomach because it forces the natural sugar in the fruit to sit inside you and pretty much ferment. However, if eaten on an empty stomach it actually helps reduce bloating because it digests quickly and is super hydrating which helps flush out bloat!

Watermelon is totally underrated. It is basically a hidden super-fruit which is why I'm so obsessed with it.
