Healthy Hangover Remedies

If you've followed me for a while, then you probably can tell how much I care about living a healthy lifestyle. That is why I don't drink very often. On a day-to-day basis I usually eat super clean, so when I do decide to have a drink my body doesn't like anything about it which usually leads to a hangover (which is pretty much the worst feeling on the planet).

So of course, I have done my research and made a list of my 5 "healthy" hangover remedies.

1. Coconut Water

Coconut water is filled with anti-oxidants and electrolytes which are the magical keys to making everything better. It is also super hydrating which makes it the perfect natural mix.

2. Ginger

Ginger is known for helping reduce nausea or an upset stomach. So if you are feeling queasy then sip on some ginger tea!

3. Bananas

Bananas are loaded with potassium, which your body will definitely need in the recovery process. That is why athletes favor them as part of their routines. I have been using bananas as a hangover cure for years. I even will eat one before I drink, or while I am drinking, for preventative measures.

4. Hydration Powder

There are so many hydration powders out there that work wonders. Some even say they are equivalent to an IV. The two that I have tried and loved are Drip Drop and Liquid IV. These powders work by providing you with all of the essential vitamins you are usually low on after a night of drinking.

5. Watermelon

Watermelon goes along with No. 1 on the list because of its near-magical hydration powers, but it’s also chock full of other nutrients, and way tastier than drinking 6 glasses of water to try and get over your hangover. It’s also a great addition to any Fourth of July party; what food reminds you of summer more than a slice of watermelon? Check out my blog on more benefits of watermelon by clicking here.
