Sweet Earth Awesome Burger

Awesome Burger Sweet Earth

Veggie Burgers are a staple in my house. I have always been a big fan of the Sweet Earth brand. I eat their burritos when I’m in a hurry and make pitas and wraps with their seitan when I have time to cook. At any given time if you open my freezer you will find a handful of Sweet Earth foods. So, when I heard they were coming out with the AWESOME Burger, I had to try it! The Sweet Earth Awesome Burger is a quarter pounder patty and a nutritional powerhouse. It is juicy, thick, delicious, and fills you up! I made a traditional bun style burger for my boyfriend and a lettuce wrap version for myself, and we were both full and satisfied for hours. I’ve personally never had a “real” beef burger in my life so I cannot describe the likeness to meat. However, my boyfriend who has had plenty of beef burgers in his life loved the Sweet Earth Awesome Burger.

Below is a simple and traditional Plant Based Burger Recipe

Awesome Burger Sweet Earth

Ingredients:

How to:

  1. Chop and sauté onions on medium heat until brown. I like to use a spray coconut oil for my pans. (5 minutes in a pan on low to medium heat)

  2. Cook the Awesome Burger in a pan on medium heat (spray pan with high heat oil) for 3-4 minutes per side. A pink center is normal when done because of the plant-based ingredients. Add your favorite plant-based cheese on top of the burger for the last minute or until it melts.

  3. Slice your avocado and tomato.

  4. Spread plant-based aioli on one side of the bun, and BBQ sauce on the other.

  5. Place the burger (w/cheese), avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickles, sprouts, and onions on the bun.

**Lettuce Wrap Style: I prefer bun-less veggie burgers, so I made mine lettuce wrapped. I left out the cheese and pickles and added extra avocado for a fresher taste. It’s the perfect his/her meal.

Sides: This plant-based burger pairs great with sweet potato fries! Other great side options would be grilled asparagus, butternut squash, or a small salad.
