COO COO For Coconuts

If you know anything about me, you know that I’m always seeking out new ways to be healthier and make myself stronger. And if the solution happens to be yummy, then it’s even better!

That’s why I love coconuts so much, no matter what form they come in. Some experts believe that coconuts can protect against heart disease, prevent tooth decay, boost metabolism, and promote energy (among countless other things). Plus there are so many ways to enjoy them!

My personal favorite coconut product is coconut water, especially C2O brand. Everyone needs to stay hydrated, and drinking coconut water is a great way to do that while still getting body-boosting vitamins and giving it more variety. Even as I’m typing this I have a bottle within reach, and if you see me in real life I’m rarely without a coconut water in hand.

While coconut water is one of my favorites, I use coconut oil the most often. Just listing everything that you can do with it would take pages and pages, so I recommend doing your own research on some cool things you can use it in, but I use it primarily for cooking. It differs from other oils in that when it gets hot in a pan, it doesn’t burn into chemicals that are bad for you. This is because it is mainly a saturated fat so it is able to withstand higher temperatures than other oils, making it one of the best oils for cooking. My boyfriend hates the feeling of it on his hands, so when he’s cooking with it he constantly has to wash his hands, but if you’re anything like me you’ll be rubbing it all over your hands and arms when his back is turned. ;) It makes a great full body moisturizer as well as a cooking tool (among other things).

Another way you can moisturize with coconuts is by using coconut hair masks. You can either get product specifically made to leave on your body and hair, or you can just take raw coconut oil and rub it into your hair, and leave it in there overnight. It’s a great way to get stronger, healthier hair, as well as make yourself smell good! Every time I get out of the shower I rub coconut oil all over by body and put a dime size amount in my wet hair for some extra shine.

There are also more obscure things to do with coconuts. Not many people know that coconut meat goes well in a lot of recipes, as long as you pair it with the right things, as well as working like a probiotic to promote good health. One of my favorite coconut recipes is for coconut ceviche, which is great for snacking or mixing in with a full meal.

There are many, many more things that coconuts can do or be put in, but this is just a list of a few of my favorites. Now get out there, test them out, and go COOCOO for coconuts!
